Creativity & Design for Digital Innovation

To achieve strategic advantage of digital transformation, embedding creativity and design in your organization is becoming essential. Digital innovations require a shift from linear to iterative innovation processes, where creativity is not only needed in the first fuzzy ideation phase but throughout the whole process. “Unfreeze, change, and freeze” analogies have become outdated as digital innovations require constant flexibility and adjustments. Effectively embedding creativity and design is necessary for organizations to think and see in different ways to identify new opportunities and risks and leverage new possibilities.

While the need for creativity and design is widely recognized, businesses often lack the resources and capabilities to engage in creativity and design alone. As a result, organizations might reach out to other organizations such as innovation agencies, design consultancies and creative labs. These organizations demonstrate that creativity and design are important resources for strategic advantage and value creation in the pursuit of digital transformation. In projects, they help businesses to move away from their daily organizational realities and identify opportunities for digital transformation. Examples include helping businesses to think from the customer’s perspective, making them familiar with digital technologies and making digital products.

In this workshop we will discuss different ways in which creativity can kickstart your digital transformation journey. In discovering this, you have the chance to learn from both professionals in the creative and design sector (Fjord & Accenture) as well as from the latest academic research on digital innovation and creativity (Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam). There will be ample time to go into discussion with each other, offering a unique opportunity for both networking and broadening your horizon.

At the end of the program all participants will receive a KIN certificate as proof of your developed know-how of Creativity and Design for Innovation.
